Non-negotiable

After all the plans are made, and
the faith is acquired to make hope viable,
the ability of youth to determine the world
as something manageable begins to fade.
Age diminishes one's bargaining power
with reality,
and death is non-negotiable.

  1. Bill,

I have what I call "Mortality Attacks" occasionally when all of these types of thoughts come rushing forward. Eventually I realize I'm still here, there's not a lot I can do about the past, and I put one foot in front of the other and move on.

    Good writing - Don't stop

    Take care,
    Don
